I’ve been really into biomimetics lately and trying to find a way to put my own spin on it. As inspiration I’ve been literally watching hours worth of nature in bloom.
Hello there I am Adrianna, though more often than not I go by my designer tag Alex Poser. I am a resident of Chicago Illinois and recent college graduate with an obsession for creating things.
In fact, I’ve been creating things for as long as I can remember. When I was younger my mother nurtured my creative side with the usual things like play doh, blocks, markers, and crayons. Always the odd child, I would do things like color the play doh with the markers and add shavings for new textures and colors despite the fact that it usually ruined it for the other children.
When I became older, I was taken with Barbie dolls and the scraps from my grandmother’s sewing jobs. I would sneak into the bin by her sewing machine and take enough fabric to create the most poorly constructed yet adorable tube dresses for my dolls decorated with a child’s idea of embroidery. This usually included buttons taken from my clothing, and if I was lucky a sequin or two that had fallen to the floor and remained unseen by my grandmother during her cleaning.
Next came drawings that ate up tons and tons of my family’s computer paper as I produced renditions of my favorite anime characters. At the time this ranged from Sailormoon to Tenchi Muyo with a bit of Dragonball Z tossed in for good measure. Also happening at this time was the tentative attempt at fashion sketches . Coming from a very low income family these garments were always elegantly done in the hopes that one day I could own something similar, or even give it to someone else to make them feel the way I would if it were mine.
Years passed, and the sketches started to fill up notebooks reserved for classwork, and became more ambitious in design. When the opportunity came to go to a school to pursue this career I jumped in wholeheartedly only to realize that fashion wasn’t the only passion that I wanted to pursue. I became entranced by digital painting, acting, make-up, sculpting, wood carving, music, instruments, photography, and just anything that would allow me to create something that I felt was beautiful. It was an obsession of mine.
Now graduated, and into the real world so to speak I’ve decided to embrace that and explore the various mediums that have attracted me and pay homage to that by creating Inventive Aesthetic. Inventive Aesthetic will serve as a host for the odd things I work on and try to create throughout the day as well as give me a sort of outlet to express myself creatively as I see fit. For now this will be left with a simply introduction, and a sort of taste of what’s to come hopefully in the near future.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope it inspired you to follow and want to stay updated on this journey. I hope all is well, and the week treats you kindly till next time. Take care :)
